High school welding/metals teacher. This is now in my storage room since we needed the bike lift in the autos classroom for the next project.

I used high temp engine paint good up to like 500* (I think). As long as you prep it right, should be ok.

Had some spare time during open house last night to put the steering stem in. I am a bit concerned with the lack of threads available for the stem nut. I used the thicker washer on the bottom of my tapered kit bearing so that the triple tree wouldn't rub on the frame. Anyone ever have this problem before?

Been a while since I last updated. Been busy with the new semester. The motor is officially bolted in. I got my last bit of powdercoating in the other day. Here's a little taste. Can anybody guess which bike I am making a callback to with the color scheme so far?

Obviously the CB/CL77 with the difference that the original red was not metallic. Looks excellent.
Are the fenders powder coated or painted?

Excellent call. Fenders are powdercoated. I'm trying to bring the classic aesthetics back but with a modern flair.

To be honest, I guess there are not many members in this forum that couldn't have answered that question.

Had a few minutes to do some really exciting stuff......fork seals. I don't have one of those fancy fork seal drivers, so I improvised and made a horizontal arbor press.

Since I am trying to go with all new hardware, some of the more oddball fasteners need to be modified. Example, the shouldered bolt for the rear fender mounts. My fix? CNC out some shims so I can use a plain 8mm bolt.
