    PAMCO ignition and advancers cb450k7

I have a 1974 CB450K7, I am planning to the points ignition to a Pamco ignition. How do I determine which advancer unit I have in my bike? The Honda microfiche lists 2 part numbers, 30220-292-154 and 30220-292-670 for the K7...my serial # is CB4507015255. The Pamco site lists three types: CB450, TEC 292, and TEC 375...help

I have a CB450K4 and just ordered a Pamco ignition. When I tore the points apart the advancer was stamped with CB450, the part number for the advancer is 30220-292-670 which is the part number for the CB450K7. I can't be certain that your advancer will be stamped the same but there is a good chance.

Re: PAMCO ignition and advancers cb450k7

Good news! All future PAMCO CB450's will be shipped with a universal rotor that will work with all of the advancers. These rotors have two sets of slots 90 degrees apart to accommodate all the advancers, so no worries. This also means that should you ever have to replace your advancer you can use any of the three.

Also, the new rotor now has a counter bore that recesses the bolt that attach's the rotor to the advancer shaft. This provides additional clearance for the cover. The edges of the rotor are also chamfered for additional clearance as well.

I have a few orders in house for the CB450 ignition and this is the reason for the delay, waiting for these new rotors to come back from the machine shop. They are here now, and will be shipped out this week, but I think that the wait was worth it for the new rotors.
    Ride. Enjoy. Life is simple.
