1971 SL350 headlight brackets w/4 holes- flat black?

Trying to determine what the original and correct black gloss level is for '71 SL350 headlight stays/brackets. You know, the ones with the iconic four holes in them, and have turned down fork tubes behind. Hard to tell from images, as I don't know what's faded and original and what's been refinished correctly.

Not sure what color you're looking for but I bought some semi-gloss spray paint at O'Reilly for about $7 and it matches perfectly the semi-gloss on my Harley brake MC.

As I stated, they're black. All I'm trying to determine is what gloss level black was used originally. After looking at many images, I believe it was a satin black, not flat black.

I think Krylon semi-flat black is a good match for the original color. They may call it satin black now, though.

Satin is what I use when I painted mine...for comparison it's the same finish as the top triple tree or the gauge covers...less glossy than the frame.

Boom- done. Thank you. This is exactly the helpful advice I was asking for.
