    Really...?

I pointed this out to a moderator previously when it was something far simpler and easy to ignore, but now it's gone a lot further. This is a motorcycle forum - not a free advertising space for just anyone. If I were the owner of this website, I wouldn't want this kind of stuff here. It started like this a couple months or so ago, and this isn't all of them...

They need to be deleted and banned. OR banned and deleted. I've seen others too.
    1979 CM400T (rider),
1981 CM400T (in surgery receiving transplant)
    1982 CM450 (parts bike)
    1982 CB450 (parts bike)
Past rides: Vincents, Triumph, BSA's, Suzuki's, Twingle, Corgy, others.
Remember, today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday.
My chest fell, but, fortunately, my belt caught it.
I don't know everything, nor, have I met the one who does.

... But you kind of have to admit these are fairly benign, right? Sure they take up a ridiculous user ID that someone else might want, but they're not spamming the board or aggressively trying to lure members. I didn't even know this stuff was happening!

Yeah, I got in the habit of looking at the new users to see where they lived and what they ride but started seeing all of the signatures loaded with ad stuff, so I took screenshots of them and collected for a while - then today's was just over the top

    Hey there

This is a fairly common spam tactic. Since a lot of tools focus on blocking links/spam strings from forum posts, they move to profile fields instead. We do have ways to work around that and I'll bring it up with the mods. Unfortunately it doesn't work backwards so these accounts will still have to be manually cleared.

Thanks for keeping a look out for the community

How about this - once you find a spam account you publish their email address and phone number to the forum and let US express our displeasure with their tactics.

I've been on a few forums in my life and I find this one to be the most comfortable, enjoyable and properly run of any. I appreciate that the riff-raff with their off-color commentary and condescending attitudes aren't a part of it here, and it's refreshing to say the least. Thanks for being a part of that positive experience, and when I'm involved in a situation I like to look out for what's right for the benefit of all.

You guys can help us when these show up, too. There's a "Report" button below every post, in the lower left corner of the border. It's the triangle with an exclamation point in it. If you click it, the mods will get an email leading to that thread/post, and you'll be able to type in your complaint.
