A big hello to you all

    Hi,
I've just joined today so here's a brief outline about me.
Started on 2 wheels back in the seventies when I was 16, rode most of my life since then, with the odd break.
    Bikes owned in that time
    1/ Yamaha DT125
    2/ Honda CB250G5
    3/ BMW K100
    4/ Harley Davidson FXD 1340
5/ Harley Davidson Heritage softail classic 1450
    6/ Honda Hornet 600
    7/ Honda VFR 800
After the VFR I had a break of about 3 yrs from 2 wheels until Christmas Eve, when a good friend spotted a Honda CB250 G5 on Evil Bay.
Now as you can see it was the 2nd bike I owned (a new bike too), but more importantly it was the model I did my courting on to my then girlfriend Liz.
I married Liz a few years later after completing my 6yr apprenticeship, & we're still happily married to this day. However the bike was sold to raise money for a house deposit for our future.
When I saw it on Ebay, we both couldn't resist the nostalgic purchase, so a deal was struck & collection planned for later in the week.
Hope nothing goes wrong with the sale, we would be gutted.
    All for now
    Steve

Looks like it was looked after. I'd check the age of the tires though. They look period and may be fine, but worth a look.

Thanks all for a very warm welcome, well the big day has finally arrived & I'll be collecting the bike in a few hours time. I was going to ride it back home (50 miles) but it's now minus 2 deg c with a heavy frost outside. Look's like the ride is going to have to wait a while longer.

    Welcome !

Same colour as the one I bought new back in the '70's.

Nice looking bike, but I never really got on with mine. I'd had a CB175 before it, and I think that spoilt me. The 250 used much more fuel, didn't handle as well (in my amateur opinion) and really wasn't that much faster.

I also had a wet weather misfire that I never got to the bottom off, and the front brake didn't work. Both issues down to me, as a clueless teenage spanner muppet !
