Thanks - I did get some with that idea in mind, however I think now we will weld a thin sheet of metal in there instead - the White card on the tank is the template.

I also think this is a better way to do it.

    CB200 Cafe Racer

So yesterday I spent ages taking the forks apart because everything was seized/stuck to something else so what I thought was a fairly quick job took most of the day. The oil seals were stuck solid so I had to completely wreck them before they would come out. There was also annoyingly a rounded off bolt at the base of one of the lower forks, so that needed drilled out.

The stench and colour of the stuff that came out of the forks was rank - clearly been in there for 38 years. Now I'm trying to find out if they can be sorted and rechromed or whether I need to get replacements.

    Got in at last....

    And finally in pieces...

Today we finished up the rear of the frame and the diagonals. Really happy with it so far.

Some odds and sods going on...

Tapered bearings in, will have to remove for powdering the frame, but I needed a measurement for the new stem:

    Forks rechromed:

    Speedo at the ready:

And a new yoke/clamps design I've been working on with Fastec, who also did the 3D (and have had oodles of patience with my fussiness):
