A bit more progress. Wheels are laced but the rear is going to Lightfoot Engineering next week as I cannot get the rim offset enough to keep the wheel central in the swing arm when doing it myself.

The rims are both new Morad items but very disappointed in the quality. The run out at the weld join on the front is unacceptable for a top end race bike. I may have to change it to Takasago at great expense.

The cam followers have gone off to THR for hard facing and re profiling. I have also decided to run with THR valves and R/D springs. I was considering the Kibblewhite 5 mm conversion but I have heard they are not as reliable, so sticking with 7mm.

I have done a bit more but it is very slow going. Getting anything done always takes weeks and everything you touch costs $1000's. My time frame has blown out a couple of months as I need to spread the spend out a bit. Thanks for the interest. Where are you located ? Bruce

Dead center of fly-over country in the US. The only people who care about where I live are politicians looking for a new job.

Spent some time in Chicago on business. Loved it. I'll post some new photos shortly. Just building a roller starter for it so will post that as well.

Grew up in Chicago—spent my whole life there. Moved out to Iowa a couple of years ago for a job then got laid off, so yeah... I'm stuck in Iowa.

Looking forward to seeing more details of your build. It's all interesting to me.

    Doug,

I was stuck in Iowa for 21 years...grew up in Webster City (60 miles north of you). There wasn't much to do there but the Iowans I grew up with knew how to make their own fun!

Say, you didn't grab that cb77 in clarion did you? I told one of my buddies from HS about it but it was gone by the time he called.

Sent you a PM to prevent massive thread drift and white noise...

Nice build. I wish I had started with a race frame instead of the standard frame and custom triple trees would have saved me some headaches also. Keep us posted on progress.

Will do. This weekend I will get around to posting a couple more photos. I am trying to secure a couple of donor motors. One has recently come up in New Zealand, so I will try and grab that for the bottom end bits I need.
