I noticed the rear shock absorbers were bad today when i was cleaning the bike. the shock compresses easily, with almost no force at all, but then it takes a lot of force to pull it back out again. they obviously need to be replaced. you can tell they are bad when you go around corners and the rear wheel feels like it dosent have a firm contact with the road.
i figured id ask you guys first before i do some hunting around. What is a good aftermarket shock to use on the 81 CB400t Hawk?

I am interested in this topic because I have this same problem, and I have been having trouble finding some new rear shock absorbers for my 1980 Hawk (except in the U.K., but they turn up being quite expensive considering I am in Mexico). The fact is, they have this "U-shaped" attachment on both ends, that seems to be so uncommon... When I have inquired in dealerships, the usual answer is that they are out of stock...
So, hasn't anyone faced this issue yet?
