Replaced the points and had it running with the new camshaft and bearing, but ran into the same lubrication problem. Pulled the engine back out and took the head off to find that I'm getting oil everywhere except the spot where the cam goes into the left bearing. Any ideas why that particular area would remain dry?

I think my cam and bearing are in good enough shape to reassemble, but I need to know how to get oil to it to prevent the same problem.

Thanks,

Scott

Here is the oil flow diagram from the Honda sloper manual:

I'll double check against my physical sloper engine parts tomorrow.....and verbally discribe the exact points to check for flow......

Verified!....The oil travels up the left rear stud passage and through a small hole and channel in the journal (aluminum cam bearing block) to the bearing surface...IF the gasket hole isn't aligned or the stud passages clear, you won't get oil..... There IS a small orifice on the cases where the base gasket goes....Wouldn't take much to clog it there....
